    The advanced hookups show the VCR hooked up to a monitor/receiver (TV with audio and video jacks). This connection may improve the picture quality as well as convenience of operation.

    Controlling a TV The VCRÔs remote is preprogrammed to control the basic functions of a compatible RCA, ProScan, or GE TV. The remote can also be set up to control other manufacturerÔs brands. To program the remote, use the remote buttons that correspond to your brand.

    Using the Playback Features Auto Play Feature This feature lets you tell the VCR whether you want it to automatically start playing a tape that is inserted with the safety tab removed. 1. Press MENU on the remote to see the VCR MAIN MENU on the TV screen.

    Automatic Tracking The VCR has automatic tracking which adjusts the picture when playing back a tape recorded on another VCR. Automatic tracking is turned on whenever a tape is inserted or the VCRÕs power is turned on. Manual Tracking Occasionally, you may need to manually adjust tracking on a tape recorded on a different VCR or camcorder.

    1. Press DISPLAY to display the status of the VCR, channel number, time counter, date, time, and tape speed on the TV screen. The VCR status will appear in the display panel. The time and date must be set before they are displayed.
