Points to be checked before making repairs
In order to protect PROGRAM data, always be sure to make a memo of the PROGRAM data before making repairs.
Caution: When the DATA knob is turned to change the PARAMETER on the SB1, the new data will automatically be
memorized in the F-ROM, canceling the previous data value. There is no way to back up SB1 parameter values externally.
Please refer to the following chart.

About the SB1 test mode
This test mode is used to check that the microcomputer (IC3 HD6433642RB42H) is correctly recognizing the switching
operation of the DATA knob, and to make adjustments if necessary.
Caution: All program data is reset to the initial factory presets when the TEST mode is entered.

power. (Plug in the DC power plug). Continuing pressing down on the foot switches. The middle segment of the 7 segment
LED will flash and then stop flashing. Once this segment has stopped flashing, turn the Data Knob (rotary encoder) in
the clock-wise direction until the LED display reads 0 – and the ON/OFF indicator lights red.
Points to be confirmed
Confirmation of each PARAMETER control position needs to be confirmed. This is done by turning the PARAMETER
control and confirming the following. When the PARAMETER control is set to the NOTE OFF LEVEL, "
turned to each other position, the number at each position increases by 1. At the last LEVEL position, if "
positions are correct.
Automatic adjustment of an incorrect display
While in the test mode, set the PARAMETER control to the NOTE OFF LEVEL and press down on the ON/OFF foot
switch for more than 2 seconds. The PARAMETER control will begin to turn taking approximately one second to
reach each position. The display will flash when the last position is reached and A – will appear to indicate that
automatic adjustment has finished.
• To cancel the test mode, unplug the DC power plug.
Cautions
• Be sure to confirm test mode operation when you have replaced the flash ROM (IC4 93LC46A) or Data knob
volume (VR501).
