    G E T T I N G S TA R T E D Placement guidelines • For best Bluetooth® performance place your mobile device within 30 ft. (9 m) of your speaker, and make sure there is a clear line of sight between you and your speaker. Moving your mobile device further away, or not having a clear line of sight, may impact sound quality, and your mobile device may disconnect from your speaker.

Before using your speaker for the first time, connect it to a USB wall charger or computer that is powered on. Your speaker does not need to be fully charged, but it does require the initial connection to activate the battery.

    You can pair your mobile device with your speaker using Bluetooth wireless technology or Near Field Communication (NFC). You can also use the Bose Connect app to pair your mobile device (see page 6). What is NFC? NFC is a technology that enables mobile devices to establish wireless communication with each other by simply tapping the mobile devices together.
