Using the scanner
This chapter tells you how to place transparent and reflective originals
on your scanner.

Placing a reflective original

The following steps explain how to position your original on your
scanner.
1. Raise the document cover of the scanner.
If you have a Transparency Module, you do not have to remove
the Transparency Module. Raise the Transparency Module.
2. Place the original that you want to scan face-down on the glass
plate.
3. Guide the top left corner of the original into the lower left (0,0)
corner of the glass plate.
4. Lower the document cover of the scanner.
Placing a transparent original
You need the Transparency Module to scan transparent originals.
1. Raise the Transparency Module.
2. Place the transparency frame on the glass plate with the
calibration hole facing the front of your scanner.
3. Place the original that you want to scan face-down inside the
transparency frame on the glass plate.
4. Guide the top left corner of the original into the lower left (0,0)
corner of the transparency frame.
5. Lower the Transparency Module.
