Handling Battery and Charger

Before Using Battery and
Charger
When purchased, Battery is not sufficiently charged.
Be sure to charge before initially using.
• For charging time and battery usage time:
(P.11-5)
About Battery
• Soiled Battery, handset or metal part of Charger
(Charging Terminals) may cause poor contact,
resulting in power failure or insufficient charging.
Clean handset, Battery and Charger with a clean,
dry swab.
• Battery is a consumable item. Replace Battery
with a new one if the operation time becomes
extremely short even after it is fully charged. Pur-
chase a new Battery.
• To help maintain performance and life of Battery,
do not store in the following conditions (battery
level should be at approximately 40% for optimal
storage).
• Full (immediately after charging is complete)
• Exhausted (too low to power on handset)
• Carry Battery in a bag, etc. when carrying it sepa-
rately.

Charging
• Battery cannot be charged without handset.
Install Battery in handset to charge it.
• Charging may take longer when handset is pow-
ered on.
• Move Charger away from TV/radio if interference
occurs.
Battery Life
• Using handset in the following conditions may
shorten Battery life:
• Extremely high or low temperatures
• Handset, Battery or Charging Terminals of Char-
ger is soiled
• Weak signal/no signal
• Handset is left powered on in mid-operation (not
in Standby)
• To extend Battery life:
• Set Backlight Time to a shorter time: (P.10-3)
• Set Key Sound to OFF: (P.10-6)
