Foot Brake

The foot brake operates the rear brakes. The
brake pedal is located in front of the right-hand
footpeg. If the rear wheels slide while using
the foot brake, reduce brake pedal pressure to
brake the wheels without skidding.
Check the brake fluid level frequently for the
Foot Brake
foot brake system. The reservoir is located
(Rear Brake)
under the seat. Maintain the fluid level
Footpeg
between the minimum and maximum marks.
Check the rear brake light for proper operation before each use of the vehicle. See page 119.
WARNING! Aggressively applying the foot brake when backing down a hill may cause rear tipover,
which could result in serious injury or death. Never back down a hill. Use caution when applying the
foot brake. Do not aggressively apply the foot brake when going forward. The rear wheels may skid
and slide sideways, causing loss of control.
