In either configuration, appliance management with AMC is SMA appliance accomplished by accessing the internal (X0) interface. This guide steps you through a basic single‐homed interface Single‐Homed Interface Configuration configuration. For the highest level of security and performance, SonicWall recommends a dual‐homed (Internal Interface) configuration. Refer to the Deployment Planning Guide and SMA Administration Guide for further information. A single network interface is used for both internal and external traffic. In this configuration, the appliance is usually installed in the demilitarized zone (or DMZ, also known as a Dual‐Homed Configuration (Internal perimeter network). and External Interfaces) Corporate network One network interface is used for external traffic (that is, to and from the Internet), and the other interface is used for Internet internal traffic (to and from your corporate network).
