MAIN BRUSH MOTOR ELECTRICAL INPUT CHECK

WARNING:
This procedure must be performed by qualified personnel only.
1.
Drive the machine on a level ground.
2.
Turn the ignition key (10) to OFF position and activate the parking brake (17).
3.
Open the hood (21) and fix it with the support rod (36).
4.
Disconnect the battery electrical connector (38).
5.
Remove the left side brush (27), if present.
6.
Remove the screw (51) and open the left side door (40).
7.
Disconnect the motor electrical cables (A) from the connection (B).
8.
To ease-off the belt (F), loosen the screws (C) and move the motor (D) in the direction indicated by the arrow
(E).
Remark: When reinstalling, before tightening the screws (C), move the motor (D) in the opposite
direction of the arrow (E) to tension the belt (F).
9.
Remove the belt (F) from the pulley (G).
WARNING:
Pay attention to the pulley (G) rotation while performing the following steps.
10. Connect the main brush motor to the machine battery, as described in the underlying diagram, inserting the
10 A fuse (H), for safety's sake.
11. With an ammeter (I) check that the main brush motor input is approx. 3 A at 24V.
12. If the input is greater, perform the motor brushes check (see the procedure on the following pages). If
necessary, disassemble the motor (see the procedure on the following page), clean it and check its moving
parts.
13. If the above-mentioned procedures do not lead to a correct motor input it is necessary to replace the motor
(see the procedure on the following page).
14. Carry out steps from 1. to 10. in the reverse order.
