2.13. SUB BRIGHTNESS ADJUSTMENT
54.1 SUB BRIGHTNESS ADJUSTMENT
Adjustment preparation
(1) Start adjustment 20 minutes or more after the
power is turned ON.
(2) Receive the color bar signal.
(3) The vertical incident illumintation on the screen
should be 20 lux or less.
Adjustment procedure
(1) Go to "Sub Brightness" adj. mode by pressing
INPUT and POWER buttons at the same time.
(2) Adjust Sub Brightness datat to meet spec.
below.
Remarks:
Directly observe the CPT screen by eye, without
using a mirror.

NOTE:
When selecting SUB-BRIGHTNESS mode, the
ucon sets the CONTRAST and COLOR to Min.
automatically, but make sure that the other
conditiions are center.
54.2 CHECK CUT OFF ADJUSTMENT
Adjustment preparation
(1) Pre heat-run should be finished.
Adjustment procedure
(1) Go to "SERVICE" mode by pressing INPUT and
POWER buttons at the same time.
(2) Check that the blue line is lighter than other
lines.
(3) If other lines are lighter than blue line, re-adjust
only Blue Cut OFF in order to be lighter than
other lines.
2.14. WHITE BALANCE ADJUSTMENT
(1) High brightness white balance
(2) Low brightness white balance
Low brightness white balance:
Red : Service mode (R cut OFF)
Green : Service mode (G cut OFF)
Blue : Service mode (B cut OFF) (fix data @
80)
High brightness white balance:
Red : Service mode (R DRV)
Blue : Service mode (B DRV)
BL
Should sink

Adjustment preparation
(1) Should be started adjustment after 20 minutes
or more form the power turn ON.
(2) Should be finished CUT OFF ADJ>
(3) VIDEO control: Contrast is MAX., Others are
center.
(4) Color temp. : COOL.
(5) Signal:
High Light white balance ADJ.
White raster 0.715Vpp (w/o sync., termination
incidence : 75ohm.)
Low light white balance ADJ.
Luminance should be 20cd/m
(6) Should be finished BLUE defocus ADJ.
(7) The vertical incident illumination on the screen
should be 20 Lux. or less.
Adjustment procedure
(A) Hight Light W/B adjustment:
(1) Receive signal for High Light white balance
ADJ.
(2) Adjust white balance to 10800K 07 MPCE
(X,Y) = (0.278, 0.280) by using JIG R/C of
(R DRV) and (B DRV0 Screen Center.
(B) Low Light W/B adjustment
(1) Receive signal for Low Light white balance
ADJ.
(2) Adjust white balance to 10800K 07 MPCD
(X, Y) = (0.278, 0.280) by using R/C of (R
CUT OFF) and B CUT OFF should be fixed,
(G CUT OFF).
Repeat A & B two or three times.

If low light adj. spec. can not be followed,
apply previous adj. spec.
2.15. SUB PICTURE ADJUSTMENT
2.15.1 SUB PICTURE BLACK LEVEL CHECK
Adjustment preparation
(1) Start adjustment about 20 minutes after the
power switch is turned ON.
(2) After displaying the white signal with main
picture, display the sub picture and receive the
clor bar signal with it.
CONDITION:
Adjustment procedure
(1) Check the sub picture setting the part of A1 of
the color bar pattern to black.
(check specification ± 0.5 steps.)
2.15.2 SUB PICTURE WHITE BALANCE ADJ.
Adjustment preparation
(1) Turn off the sub picture by pressing (PinP) key of
remote control. (keeping the white signal with
main picture.)
(2) Display and match the sub picture details with
the main picture details by pressing (FRZ) key of
remote controller.
(3) Select "Single" freeze mode.
(4) Condition should be set as follows:
CONT. = MAX.
OTHERS = CENTER
