pressing on the HANDLE RELEASE pedal.

SUGGESTED PILE HEIGHT SETTINGS
Attention: Refer to your carpet
manufacturers cleaning recommendations.
Some more delicate carpets may require
that they be vacuumed with the PowerMate

damage.
For best deep down cleaning, use the XLO
setting. However, you may need to raise the
height to make some jobs easier, such as
scatter rugs and some deep pile carpets,
and to prevent the vacuum cleaner from
shutting oç. Suggested settings are:
HI – Shag, deep pile, super-soft, or ultraplush
carpets, and scatter rugs.
MED – Medium to deep pile.
LO – Low to medium pile.
XLO –

Slide the switch forward
to the CARPET position
to turn on suction from
the canister motor and
the PowerMate agitator.
The CARPET indicator
button will turn green,
and the PowerMate
agitator will start to spin.
HARDFLOOR
Slide the switch forward
to the HARDFLOOR
position to turn on canister
motor suction only. The
HARDFLOOR indicator
button will turn green,
and the PowerMate
agitator will not spin.
Slide the switch all the way back to turn
WKH YDFXXP FOHDQHU Rç 7KH CARPET and
HARDFLOOR indicators will both become
gray.

NOTE: The dirt sensor and wand light will
operate ONLY when the switch is in the
CARPET position.
CAUTION
DO NOT leave the PowerMate
one spot for any length of time. Damage
to carpet may occur.
CAUTION
Product Damage Hazard
Use care if the PowerMate
left in the upright position as it may tip
over easily. Property damage can occur if
tipped.
