5-1. Circuit Description

Outline
The DFR-E3000 consists of the following boards.
. IF-752 board
. EN-139 board
. DPR-139 board
. CN-1886 board
. CN-1887 board
. CN-1840 board
. CN-1885 board
. DP-131 board
. MB-855 board
IF-752 board
The IF-752 board is used to input and output an analog audio signal and input SDIF2 and AES/EBU
digital audio signals. The IF-752 board consists of an interface IC, a rate converter, a clock generator
circuit, and two PLDs (IC302 and IC702). One PLD (IC302) contains a clock control circuit, error flag
extraction circuit, and CPU I/O circuit. The other PLD (IC702) contains a matrix circuit, level control
circuit, level meter circuit, and CPU I/O circuit.
The IF-752 board also mounts an analog filter circuit for detecting a POP audio signal.
EN-139 board
The EN-139 board encodes the digital audio signal sent from the IF-752 board using an ATRAC encoder
and produces an SDDS audio signal. The EN-139 board also has a decoder for tone monitoring and can
monitor the SDDS audio signal.
DPR-139 board
The DPR-139 board can be mainly divided into two blocks. One is a clock block and system block. This
block produces a sampling frequency (44.1 MHz or 44.056 MHz) used in the whole system with the
external reference video signal or internal crystal oscillator as the reference. This block also mounts a
microcomputer and ROM, in which a DSP code was recorded, for single operation control. The serial
number of the unit is also stored in a microcomputer. The other is a main data bus that performs the ECC
encoding and formatting of SDDS data. The SDDS audio data sent from the EN-139 board is encoded
using PLD (IC102) and an ECC encode chip (IC103). After that, visual ID information is added to the
encoded SDDS audio signal by PLD (IC203). The SDDS audio signal is then delay-adjusted using
IC304, converted into the signal based on a recording format, and output to DFR-C3000 and DFP-D3000.
CN-1886 board
The CN-1886 board mounts an SDI interface for sending SDDS data to DFP-3000. The CN-1886 board
also mounts an interface circuit for communicating with a personal computer. Moreover, this board
contains an input buffer for a reference video signal and an output buffer for a video output signal.
DFR-E3000
CN-1887 board
The CN-1887 board mounts an input/output circuit related to the camera. The CN-1887 board also
mounts a photocoupler for a camera remote signal.
CN-1840 board
The CN-1840 board mounts a transformer or buffer related to the digital audio input. The CN-1840 board
also mounts an output buffer for an FS signal output.
CN-1885 board
The CN-1885 board mounts only an analog input connector.
