Smart Connect test using load balancing

To set up the smart connect test, enable Smart Connect on the Nighthawk X6-R8000 and connect a few
of suggested devices to both of the 5 GHz bands.
Run the same test with another AC1750 or AC1900 WiFi router and compare the performance results
Use the following equipment to set up this test:
Nighthawk X6-R8000
NETGEAR suggest to connect the following devices
o MacBook Pro 802.11ac (3x3)
o iPhone-1x1 802/11n
o iPad-2x2 802.11n
o Samsung galaxy S5 (2x2 802.11ac)
o Apple Macbook Pro (3x3 802.11ac)
o Apple Macbook Air (2x2 802/11ac)
o Nighthawk-R7000 in bridge mode
AC1750 or AC1900 WiFi router
To setup the Smart Connect test using the Nighthawk X6:
1. Log in to the Nighthawk X6.
a. Launch an Internet browser from a computer or wireless device that is connected to the
network.
b. Type http://www.routerlogin.net or http://www.routerlogin.com.
A login screen displays.
c. Enter the router user name and password.
The user name is admin. The default password is password. The user name and
password are case-sensitive.
The BASIC Home screen displays.
2. Select Wireless.
3. Select the Smart Connect – One Wireless Network Name (SSID) for both 5 GHz radios check
box.
4. Specify the settings for the 5GHz-One Radio band and 5 GHz-Two Radio band.
For the 5GHz-One Radio and 5 GHz-Two Radio, set the same SSIDs and passwords in the Name
(SSID) and Password (Network Key) fields.
a. In the Name (SSID) field, enter the wireless network name (SSID).
b. In the Channel section, select a channel.
c. In the Mode section, select a mode.
d. In the Security Option section, select a radio button.
e. If prompted, in the Password (Network Key) field, type the passphrase (the WiFi
password that you use to connect wirelessly to the other router).
Make a note of the WiFi settings. You need to know the SSIDs, WiFi security modes, wireless
passwords, and the operating frequencies.
5. Click the Apply button
Your changes are saved.
6. Log in to R7000.
a. Launch an Internet browser from a computer or wireless device that is connected to the
network.
