When to Check and Change Lubricant
It is not necessary to regularly check the rear axle
fluid unless there is a leak in the system or you hear
an unusual noise. A fluid loss in the system indicates
that you have a problem. Have the system inspected
and repaired.
How to Check Lubricant
To get an accurate reading, the vehicle should be on a
level surface.
5-42
The proper level is from 0 to 3/8 inch (0 to 10 mm)
below the bottom of the filler plug hole.
If the level is below the bottom of the filler plug hole,
you'll need to add some lubricant. Add enough lubricant
to raise the level to the bottom of the filler plug hole.
What to Use
See Part D: Recommended Fluids and Lubricants on
page 6-15 for the type of fluid to use.

Headlamp Aiming

If your vehicle is damaged in an accident, the headlamp
aim may be affected. If you believe your headlamps
need to be re-aimed, we recommend that you take
your vehicle to the dealer for service. However, it
is possible for you to re-aim your headlamps by following
the procedure in the service manual for your vehicle.
