Gasoline engines M 157 AMG and M 273

The V8 engines M 273 and M 157 AMG are used in
model series 463. The AMG engine with replaces the
previous M 113 V8 engine.
The advantages of the M 157 AMG compared to the
M 113 include:
• "Controlled Efficiency" with alternator
management and start/stop function
• Full-aluminum crankcase with ventilation bores
• Three-piece chain drive
• Innovative cast pistons
• Demand-based control of cooling/oil circuit
• Continuous camshaft adjustment on the intake
and exhaust sides
Both engines meet the EU 5 or LEV II emissions stan-
dards.
