6. When not in use or when you want to store your kettle, the power cord may be

Wash them in warm, soapy water, rinse and dry well.
8. The body of the appliance and the base should be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Do not let water enter the appliance or the base.
9. Do not use bleach or other abrasive substance or solvents to clean your
appliance as it can be damaging to the finish.
10. Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid, or hold it under a
running tap to clean.
11. To remove stubborn spots/marks, wipe the surfaces with a cloth slightly
dampened in soapy water or a mild non-abrasive cleaner.
12. In hard water areas, it is necessary to remove scale and water deposit markings
in the kettle, as this can cause premature operation of the boil-dry switch. There
are various kettle cleaners/kettle descalers which remove scale, and markings,
available from supermarkets, chemists, and other stores.

REMOVAL OF MINERAL DEPOSITS

Your kettle should be periodically descaled as the mineral deposits in tap water may
form scale at the bottom of the kettle interior so as to cause the kettle to operate less
efficiently. You can use the commercially available descaler and follow the instructions
on the package of descaler. Alternatively, you may follow the instructions below:
1. Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar, and then add water so as to cover the
bottom of the kettle completely. Leave the solution inside the kettle overnight.
2. Discard the mixture in the kettle, then fill the kettle with clean water, boil and
discard the water. Repeat several times until the odour of vinegar has ceased.
Any stains remaining inside the spout can be removed by rubbing with a damp
cloth.
You can help protect the environment!
