1. Stitch from the seam edge, taper-
ing gradually to the point.
l. Stitch beyond the fabric to form
a thread chain 1 ,2' to :

3. Tie the thread ends into a single
knot close to the stitching.

With zig-zag stitching, interfacings
can be shaped without bulk.
1. Cut out the dart allowance on the
stitching line .
2. Bring ra%N~ edges together and pin
over a muslin stay .
