The SmartKey centrally locks/unlocks:
the doors

the tailgate
R
the charge socket flap
R
The turn signals flash once when unlocking
and three times when locking.

You can also set an audible signal to con-
firm that the vehicle has been locked. The
audible signal can be activated and deacti-
vated using the on-board computer
( page 188).

Changing the settings of the locking
system
You can change the settings of the locking
system. Then only the driver's door is
unlocked when you unlock the vehicle. This is
useful if you frequently travel on your own.
To change the setting: simultaneously

press the % and & buttons for
approximately 6 seconds until the battery
check lamp ( page 74) flashes twice.

If the setting of the locking system is
changed within the signal range of the vehi-
cle, pressing the & or % button:
locks or
R
unlocks the vehicle
R
The SmartKey now functions as follows:
To unlock the driver's door: press the
X
% button once.
To unlock centrally: press the % but-
X
ton twice.
To lock centrally: press the & button.
X
To restore the factory settings: simulta-
X
neously press the % and & buttons
for approximately 6 seconds until the bat-
tery check lamp flashes twice
( page 74).

Mechanical key

General notes
If the vehicle can no longer be unlocked with
the SmartKey, use the mechanical key.
If you use the mechanical key to unlock and
open the driver's door, the anti-theft alarm
system will be triggered (
There are several ways to turn off the alarm:
Press the % or & button on the
X
SmartKey.
or
Insert the SmartKey into the ignition lock.

If you unlock the vehicle using the mechanical
key, the charge socket flap will not be
unlocked automatically.
To unlock the charge socket flap: insert
X
the SmartKey into the ignition lock.
Removing the mechanical key
Push release catch : in the direction of
X
the arrow and at the same time remove
mechanical key ; from the SmartKey.
