Air Filter

Dirty and clogged air filters reduce
engine power, increase fuel con-
sumption and make starting more
difficult.
The air filter should always be
cleaned when engine power
begins to drop off.
• Before removing the filter, close
the choke shutter to prevent dirt
falling into the carburetor - press
down interlock lever (1) and move
Master Control lever (2) all the way
back to the cold start position.
• Rotate twist lock (1) on carburetor
box cover (2) one quarter turn
counterclockwise and remove the
cover.

around the filter.
• Remove the air filter.
• Take the foam element out of the

• Wash the air filter and foam ele-
ment in a fresh, non-flammable
cleaning solution (e.g. warm
soapy water) and, if possible,

Important: Flocked air filters must
not be cleaned with compressed air,
