MOUNTING THE SYSTEM
Before mounting the ScaleSolver™ system, please consider the following:
•
The system must be mounted with suf cient access to replace the PowerTAC™ Cartridge. The ScaleSolver™ is
24 -1/2" inches tall. An additional 3 inches should be allowed below the bottom of the system to provide proper
access when changing cartridges.
• The system must be mounted with hardware capable of supporting 20 lbs. or more of weight.
• The mounting bracket supplied with the system can be mounted either up or down (see Fig. 1 below). The
bracket comes with screws for attaching the bracket to the ScaleSolver™ Housing Head. These special thread-
forming screws should only be used for mounting the head to the bracket.
• If installing the mounting bracket face down, be sure to attach the mounting bracket to the wall before attaching
it to the head.
• The ScaleSolver™ Housing Head can be mounted with the inlet on the left, the Red Pressure Relief Button is at
the front. Consult the top of the ScaleSolver™ Housing Head and note that the inlet connection is labeled "In"
and the oulet connection is labled "Out" (see Fig. 1).
• The ScaleSolver™ must be installed upstream of all equipment using hot water.
• The cold water supply should only be connect to the "In" and "Out" port on the ScaleSolver ™ Housing head.
The ltered water should only be connected to the "Out" port on the ScaleSolver™ Housing Head (see Fig. 1). A
shut-off valve (not included) is recommended for install prior to the inlet side for lter change convenience.
Attaching to the Inlet
Use adapters and connectors with a pipe thread sealant that is drinking water-approved for use on plastic ttings.
NOTE: On plastic fittings, never use pipe sealant or pipe dope. Use PTFE thread tape only, pipe dope
properties may deteriorate plastic.
