Go to Network TCP/IP Settings > eth0 > Provide the hostname, SN, and GW. Use the Tab

Log out of the session and close the console.

Configure the new node in the CMC

Launch CMC and login as the admin user.
1.
On the Toolbar, select Find > Find Systems... > Add.
a.
Enter the VSA IP address you configured on step 4c on the pre-expansion.
b.
The new node will show up on the Available Systems.
Click Log in to view.

Right click on the new node and select Add to Existing Management Group ...

Confirm the Group Name and click Add. It may take a minute to finish.

After the new node shows up on the management group, right click and select Add to Existing

Cluster...
Confirm the Cluster name and click OK. Click OK again on the WARNING pop-up message.

The new node will show up on the Storage Systems group.
Go back to vCenter and get the iSCSI name of the new node using either of the following steps:

Select the server and go to Configuration > Hardware > Storage Adapters > select the iSCSI

Software Adapter > under Details is the iSCSI name.
Click Properties... hyperlink under Details then click Configure... to copy the iSCSI Name.

Go back to the CMC and add the server.

Right click on Servers and select New Server...

In the New Server dialog, perform the following steps:

Use the ESXmgmt IP of the new node for the Name and CHAP Name
a.
Keep the two iSCSI security checkboxes enabled (default)
b.
For the CHAP passwords, ensure that Target and Initiator are 12 characters long and are unique.
c.
Present the volume(s) to the newly added server by right-clicking on the newly added server and

selecting Assign and Unassign Volumes and Snapshots...
Assign the volumes by performing the following steps:

For the new compute host, select only the VSA management volume.
a.
For the new management host, select both CS9 and VSA management volumes.
b.
Get the iSCSI name of the volume to be configured on vCenter.

Select the volume.
a.
On the Details tab under Target Information, copy the value for the iSCSI Name field on the

Target Information. This is the iSCSI server IQN you will use later in vCenter.

Configure the volume in vCenter

Configure the presented volume(s) on vCenter.
1.
Select the new node, go to Configuration > Hardware > Storage Adapters > select the iSCSI

Software Adapter > Details > Properties...
On the General tab, select CHAP...

Select Use CHAP on both options

Use the same name configured on the CMC (step 10a above of the CMC setup section)
ii.
Use the same Target and Initiator passwords
