Trouble Recovery
6.
Insert the knotted end of the emergency
starter rope into the notch in the flywheel
magnet and wind the rope 1 or 2 turn(s)
around the flywheel magnet clockwise.
7.
Pull the rope slowly until resistance is
felt. Give a strong pull straight out to
crank and start the engine. If the engine
does not start on the first try, repeat the
procedure.
TIP:
If the engine does not start on the first try,
repeat the procedure. If the engine fails to
start after 4 or 5 tries, open the throttle a
small amount (between 1/8 and 1/4) and
try again. Also if the engine is warm and
fails to start, open the throttle a same
amount and try to start the engine again. If
the engine still fails to start, see page 54.
Slowly return the throttle grip to the fully
closed position so that the engine does not
stall.
