Using Compatible XRC in conjunction with Compatible FlashCopy

The XP P9500 supports the use of Compatible XRC in conjunction with Compatible FlashCopy
(Compatible FlashCopy) to maintain data in the secondary site and the primary site for disaster
recovery and data migration purposes.

Volume functioning as Compatible XRC P-VOL and Compatible FlashCopy S-VOL

The following figure shows the configuration in which a volume is functioning as both a Compatible
XRC P-VOL and a Compatible FlashCopy S-VOL. In this configuration, data is copied within the
primary site using Compatible FlashCopy, and it is copied from the primary site to the secondary
site using Compatible XRC.

Volume functioning as Compatible XRC S-VOL and Compatible FlashCopy S-VOL

The following figure shows the configuration in which a volume is functioning as both a Compatible
XRC S-VOL (secondary volume) and a Compatible FlashCopy S-VOL (source volume). In this
configuration, data is copied from the primary site to the secondary site using Compatible XRC,
and it is copied within the secondary site using Compatible FlashCopy.
