Troubleshooting Procedures
To avoid risk of electrical shock, personal injury, or death, disconnect power to washer before servicing, unless
testing requires it.
13. Washer locks-up or binding.
Possible Cause
Excessive drive belt tension.
Bind in upper or lower bearing.
Bind in water pump.
Bind in transmission.
Brake pads are binding.
Incorrect voltage.
14. Outer tub does not empty.
Possible Cause
Kinked drain hose.
Failed water pump.
Obstruction in outer tub outlet hose.
15. Excessive vibration.
Possible Cause
Washer is not properly leveled.
Unbalance load in the tub.
Broken or disconnected centering springs.
Washer is installed on weak, "spongy",
carpeted or built-up floor.
Loose or damaged leveling legs.
Damage base (wash was dropped).
Lubricant on pivot dome or broken friction ring.
Liquid filled balance ring leaking.
Shipping plug not removed.
Rubber feet not installed.
16. Water leaking from outer tub.
Possible Cause
Water seal leaking on outer tub.
Hole in outer tub.
Pressure hose or accumulator leaking.
Outer tub cover gasket leaking.
Tub-to-pump hose leaking at clamp.
Obstruction in drain causing water to overflow
over tub cover.

W ARNING
Replace drive belt and/or idler spring.
Replace bearing.
Replace pump.
Replace transmission.
Free binding pads or replace pads.
Contact local utility company, or have a qualified electrician
check power supply voltage.
Straighten drain hose.
Replace water pump.
Remove obstruction.
Adjust leveling legs for proper leveling.
Stop washer, redistribute load and restart the washer.
Connect or replace centering springs.
Relocate washer, or support floor to eliminate weak or "spongy"
condition.
Tighten or replace leveling legs.
Replace base assembly.
Remove lubricant and replace damage components.
Replace balance ring.
Remove shipping plug.
Install rubber feet.
Replace hub and seal kit assembly.
Replace outer tub.
Replace hose and/or accumulator.
Replace gasket.
Tighten hose clamp.
Remove obstruction in drain hose.
