WARNING:
Always remove battery pack from your
tool when you are assembling parts, making adjust-
ments, cleaning, or when not in use. Removing bat-
tery pack will prevent accidental starting that could
cause serious personal injury.
To remove the battery pack:
 Lock the switch trigger by placing the direction of rota-
tion selector in center position.
 depress the latches on the sides of the battery pack.
The battery pack will disconnect in the direction to be
removed.
WARNING:
Battery tools are always in operating
condition. Therefore, the switch should always be
locked when not in use or carrying at your side.
LED WORkLIGHT
See Figure 4, page i.
The LEd worklight, on the base of the tool, illuminates
when the switch trigger is depressed. This provides
additional lighting on the surface of the workpiece for
operation in lower-light areas.
BIT STORAGE
See Figure 4, page i.
When not in use, bits can be placed in the storage area
located at the bottom of the tool handle.
BUILT-IN COUPLER
See Figure 5, page i.
The tool has a built-in coupler. The coupler has been de-
signed to accept 1/4 in. hex bits with a locking groove.
INSTALLING BITS
See Figure 5, page i.
 Lock the switch trigger by placing the direction of
rotation selector in the center position.
 Remove the battery pack from the impact driver.
 Pull the coupler away from the driver (1).
 Insert driver bit to be used into the coupler (2).
 Release the coupler (3).
 Pull on the bit to make sure it is secured in the coupler.
There may be some play in the installed bit; this is
normal.

OPERATION

NOTE: Use only impact quality bits with a locking
groove (not included).
WARNING:

so could cause serious personal injury.
REMOVING BITS

DRIVING OR REMOVING SCREWS
See Figures 6 - 7, page i.
 Place the direction of rotation selector in the correct
position for the operation.
 Hold the impact driver with one hand.
 Place the bit on the screw head and slowly depress the
switch trigger. Start the bit slowly for more control.
 As screw is driven, impacting will begin.
WARNING:
likely to be hidden wiring behind the surface. Con-
tact with a "live" wire will make exposed metal parts
of the tool "live" and shock the operator. If you must
drive a screw where hidden wire may be present,
always hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces
(handle) when performing the operation to prevent a
shock to the operator, as seen in figure 6.
ELECTRIC BRAkE
The electric brake will stop the bit rotation after the operator
releases the switch trigger. When the brake is functioning
properly, sparks will be visible through the vent slots on the
housing. This is normal and is the action of the brake.
