Reinstalling Windows Vista

You can reinstall Windows using the System Recovery CD for Windows Vista when
Windows is no longer working properly. (For models supplied with a System Recovery
CD.)
For models supplied with the Samsung Recovery Solution, you can reinstall Windows
using the Samsung Recovery Solution.
 A System Recovery CD may not be supplied depending on your computer model.
 To install Windows, an external-type ODD and a USB keyboard are required. The
following descriptions assume that an external ODD and an external USB keyboard
are connected.
Connect the external-type ODD and USB keyboard before turning the
computer on. If you connect a USB keyboard during the installation, the
computer will fail to recognize the USB keyboard.
 If you cannot start Windows, or if you want to delete all existing data and reinstall
Windows, install Windows according to the descriptions in [Reinstalling when
Windows does not start].
 The manual describes procedures on the basis of Windows Vista Home Premium.
Some pictures may differ from actual product.
 Since Windows Vista may be upgraded to increase performance, some of the
installation procedures may differ depending on the Windows Vista version.
This guide describes how to reinstall Windows on the basis of the latest version,
Windows Vista SP1.
Reinstalling Windows may delete data (files and programs) saved on the hard
disk drive.
Make sure to backup all important data. Samsung Electronics shall not be held liable
for any loss of data.
