14. Connect the signal cable and the power cable to the new 2.5-inch storage drive.

Replacing the 3.5-inch storage drive in the primary storage drive bay
To replace the 3.5-inch storage drive in the primary storage drive bay, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 50.
3. Remove the front bezel. See "Replacing the front bezel" on page 50.
4. Remove the optical drive. See "Replacing the optical drive" on page 52.
5. Locate the 3.5-inch storage drive you want to replace. See "Computer components" on page 5.
6. Disconnect the signal cable and the power cable from the 3.5-inch storage drive. See "Parts on the
system board" on page 6.
