Chapter 6. Function keys

The following table describes the functions of function keys and key combinations.

F1 Mutes or unmutes the speakers.
If you mute the sound and turn off your computer, the sound will remain muted when you turn
on your computer again. To turn on the sound, press F2 or F3.
F2 Decreases the speaker volume.
F3 Increases the speaker volume.
F4 Mutes or unmutes the microphones.
F5 Darkens the display.
F6 Brightens the display.
F7
Switches the display output location between the computer display and an external monitor.
F8 Enables or disables the wireless features.

F11 Views the programs that you have opened.
F12
Fn+Esc Press Fn+Esc to enable or disable the Fn Lock function and switch between default mode
and legacy mode of using the function keys.
• When the Fn Lock function is disabled: The Fn Lock indicator is off (default mode). To
