Possible Causes
Not unusual during periods of high
humidity.
Lid may not be seating properly,
causing cold air from inside the freezer
to meet warm moist air from the
outside.
No power at outlet.
Freezer is unplugged.
Light bulb burned out.
Package holding lid open.
Built-in overload protection.
Lid left open.
Too frequent or too long lid openings.
Not unusual during periods of high
humidity.
The external freezer walls can be as
much as 30°F warmer than room
temperature.
Modern freezers have increased storage
capacity and more stable temperatures.
They require a high-efficiency
compressor.
Freezer operates at higher pressures
during the start of the ON cycle.
Metal parts undergo expansion and
contraction, as in hot water pipes.
Refrigerant (used to cool freezer) is
