Removing Old Trimming Line and Obstructions
If necessary, remove any old trimming line and/or obstructions from
the cutting head.
1. Firmly press in the tabs on the cutting head (Fig. 20).
2. Remove the spool cover (Fig. 20).
3. Remove any old trimming line and/or obstructions.
4. Use a clean cloth to clean the inner reel, outer spool and spool
cover (Fig. 20).
5. Align the tabs on the spool cover with the holes on the outer
spool (Fig. 20). Push the spool cover onto the outer spool until
the tabs securely snap into the holes.
REPLACING THE BLADE
WARNING:
To avoid serious personal injury, always
wear gloves when handling the blade.
WARNING:
Do not sharpen the blade. Sharpening the
blade can cause the blade tip to break off while in use.
This can result in severe personal injury.
Removing the Blade
1. Align the shaft bushing hole with the locking rod slot (Fig. 21).
Insert the locking rod into the locking rod slot and shaft bushing
hole (Fig. 21).
2. While holding the locking rod in place, loosen the nut by turning it
clockwise with a 13 mm closed-end or socket wrench (Fig. 22).
3. Remove the locking rod (Fig. 23).
4. Remove the nut, blade retainer and blade (Fig. 23).
