Starting the recording mode
Recording HD (High Defi nition) movie clips
You can record HD (High Defi nition) movie clips (1280x720HQ, 30 fps)
using H.264 (MPEG4.AVC) video compression. H.264 (MPEG4.AVC)
is the standard for digital video codecs. It supports high quality video in
small size fi les.
1. Select the Movie clip mode by using
the Mode dial. (p.22)
2. Press the Fn button to set the
resolution to [1280x720 HQ].
3. Press the Shutter button to record
video for the available recording time.
What is H.264(MPEG4 part10/AVC)?
With its high-compression rate and the small fi le size, H.264 is the
standard for digital video codecs, supporting top quality recordings
in high resolution.

Recording a movie clip without sound

You can record a movie clip without sound.
Steps 1 through 3 are the same as those
for MOVIE mode.
4. Press the Menu button.
5. Press the Up / Down button to select the
1280x720 HQ
6. Select the [Voice] menu by pressing the
7. Select the [Off] menu by pressing the Left / Right button.
Exit

8. Press the OK bu tton. You can record a movie without sound.
[Movie] menu, and then press the Right
button.
Up / Down button, and then press the OK button.
