19. Improving Performance

SmartS requires an amount of allocated program memory equal to about 10% of the size of the
installed and active maps. Without enough allocated memory, you may receive an Out of Memory error.
Reducing Number of Active Maps
SmartS uses program memory to store maps, so it is recommended that you only specify the
map or maps that you currently require. The Active Map Selection Settings screen allows you to
specify which of the available maps are to be used. See page 0 for more information.
Increasing Allocation of Program Memory
SmartS requires an amount of allocated program memory equal to about 10% of the size of the
installed and active maps.
1. Tap Start to display the Start menu.
2. Tap Settings on the Start menu.
. On the Settings screen, tap the System tab.
4. Tap the Memory icon. The Memory screen will open.
5. Move the slider to the left until you have enough program memory listed on the right. See
your Pocket PC manual for more information.
