Performing Auto Media Adjust

Performing Auto Media Adjust
Auto Media Adjust prints adjustment patterns and uses the printer's sensor to read them. The printer
performs continuous Feed Adjustment and Head Alignment based on the adjustment patterns. Before
executing Auto Media Adjust, make sure you set the Platen Gap and any Advanced Settings that are
required by your media.
Note: If the automatic adjustments do not work, you can change settings manually. For more information, see
the online User's Guide.
Load the media you want to configure.

Checking and Cleaning the Print Head Nozzles

You should check the print head for clogs or deflections each time you print.
Note: You can set the printer to automatically check the nozzles periodically using Auto Nozzle Check or before
each print job using Print Nozzle Pattern. You can also run different head cleaning levels and set up automatic
cleaning cycles.
Press the
Maintenance button.

Nozzle Check

Examine the printed pattern to determine if the print head needs cleaning.

If you need to clean the print head, select one of the following:

(if all numbered patterns have faint or missing segments)
All Nozzles
Selected Nozzles
Choose the nozzle arrays (corresponding to the numbered patterns) to be cleaned.
