BREAKING-IN

Tires
WARNING
New tires need to be run-in for
approximately 300 miles (500
kilometers). During this time, you
may experience different driving
characteristics.
Brakes and Clutch
WARNING
Avoid heavy use of the brakes and
clutch if possible for the first 100
miles (150 kilometers) in town and
for the first 1000 miles (1500 kilometers)
on freeways.
Engine
WARNING
Avoid driving too fast during the first
1000 miles (1500 kilometers). Vary
your speed frequently and change
up through the gears early. Do not labor
the engine.
COLD WEATHER
PRECAUTIONS
The functional operation of some
components and systems can be affected
at temperatures below -25°C.

DRIVING THROUGH WATER

WARNINGS
Do not attempt to start a vehicle that
has been submerged in water.
Contact an authorized dealer for
support.

Driving Hints

Never drive through water when it
flows above the bottom of the
bumper or the center of the tyre.
Engine damage can occur if
attempts are made to cross through
deep water.
All fluids including engine and
transmission fluid need to be
changed in case of water ingress and
contamination.
During the crossing, avoid creating a
bow wave in front of the vehicle.
Never enter into unknown terrain,
there may be hidden obstacles such
as ditches, manholes etc.
If the situation demands to drive through
water in an emergency even at great risk,
then:
Maintain a low speed of maximum
10km/h.
Make sure the engine does not stall in
water.
After driving through water, and as soon
as it is safe to do so:
Have the engine and transmission
assembly checked by an authorized
dealer for any water ingress.
Depress the brake pedal lightly and
check that full brake function is
achieved.
Check that the horn works.
Check that the vehicle lights are fully
operational.
Check the power assistance of the
steering system.
