TROUBLESHOOTING

When the main switch is turned to "ON", the immobilizer system indicator light does not come on nor
flashes.
1. Check the fuses.
(Main, ignition, backup, and ECU)
Refer to "CHECKING THE FUSES"
on page 7-93.

2. Check the battery.
Refer to "CHECKING AND
CHARGING THE BATTERY" on
page 7-94.
OK ↓
3. Check the main switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 7-89.

4. Check the entire immobilizer
system wiring.
Refer to "CIRCUIT DIAGRAM" on
page 7-75.
OK ↓
• Check the condition of the each
immobilizer system circuits.
• Refer to "SELF-DIAGNOSIS FAULT
CODE INDICATION" on page 7-81.

SELF-DIAGNOSIS FAULT CODE INDICATION

When a system malfunction occurs, the fault code number is signaled by the immobilizer system indi-
cator light.

transmitted between
the key and the

IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM
Replace the fuse(s).
• Clean the battery terminals.
• Recharge or replace the battery.
Replace the main switch/immobilizer unit.
Properly connect or repair the immobilizer
system wiring.
Cause
1. Radio wave
interference caused
by objects around the
keys and antenna.
2. Immobilizer unit
malfunction.
3. Key malfunction.
Action
1. Keep magnets,
metal objects,
and other
immobilizer
system keys
away from the
keys and
antennas.
2. Replace the
main switch/im-
mobilizer unit.
3. Replace the key.
