Appendix B: Programming LCD Keypads

If you have an LCD5500Z keypad, additional programming is required for proper operation. The following is a description of the
available programming options and their accompanying programming sections:
How to Enter LCD Programming
Follow the programming procedure as outlined in Section 4 by pressing [*][8][Installer's Code]. Press the [*] key. Enter the two
digit section number to be programmed.
Programmable Labels – Sections [01] - [08], [33], [34], [40], [44], [51], [52]
Zone labels and other LCD display identifiers can be customized to make operation of the system easier for the end user. The fol-
lowing procedure should be used for creating all LCD labels:
• Enter installer programming. Enter the number corre-
sponding to the label to be programmed.
• Use the arrow keys (<>) to move the underline bar under-
neath the letter to be changed.
[1] - A, B, C, 1
[2] - D, E, F, 2
[6] - P, Q, R, 6
[7] - S, T, U, 7
• When the required letter or number is displayed use the
arrow keys (<>) to scroll to the next letter.
[01] to [32] Zone Labels (14 Characters)
Default: "Zone 1" - "Zone 32"

[33] Fire Alarm Label (14 Characters)
Default: "Fire Zone"
[34] System Label (14 Characters)
Default: "System"
[40] to [48] [*][7][1-4] Command Output Option Labels (14 Characters)

[46] Default: "Command O/P 3"
[48] Default: "Command O/P 4"

• Press the number key [1] to [9] corresponding to the letter
you require. The first time you press the number the first
letter will appear. Pressing the number key again will dis-
play the next letter. Refer to the following chart:
[5] - M, N, O, 5
[0] - Space
• When you are finished programming the zone label, press
the [*] key, scroll to "Save," then press [*].
• Continue from Step 2 until all labels are programmed.
