    Set Up Your Phone Before using your new phone, you must install and charge the battery. If desired, you may also take the opportunity to install an optional memory card (not included). Note: Your phone’s battery should have enough charge to turn the phone on and find a signal, complete the setup wizard, set up voicemail, and make a call.

    Swipe or Slide To swipe or slide means to quickly drag your finger vertically or horizontally across the screen.   • Page 28 Flick Flicking the screen is similar to swiping, except that you need to swipe your finger in light, quick strokes. This finger gesture is always in a vertical direction, such as when flicking the contacts or message list. Rotate For most screens, you can automatically change the screen orientation from portrait to landscape by turning the phone sideways.

    Pinch and Spread “Pinch” the screen using your thumb and forefinger to zoom out or “spread” the screen to zoom in when viewing a picture or a Web page.
