Port Replicator

Expansion Bus Connector
A port replicator is available as an option (CF-VEB271 or CF-VEB272). This device
eliminates the hassles of having you connect/disconnect the various cables when carry-
ing your computer around and allows a variety of peripherals to be connected including
a headphone or microphone, etc.
The port replicator connects to the expansion bus connector on the back of your com-
puter.
For more detailed information, please refer to the operation manual of the port replicator.
CAUTION
The serial port B of the port replicator can not be used with the default settings.
Setting the Port Replicator
To be able to use the serial port B of the port replicator, be sure to follow the steps below.

In [Start] - [Settings] - [Control Panel] - [System] - [Device Manager] - [Mouse] - [AHL/
AR5000 and Digitouch Controllers], add the check mark for [Disable in this hardware
profile] in [Device Usage], press [OK], then press [Close]. Restart the computer.

When the message [Press <F2> to enter SETUP] is displayed, press
run the Setup Utility.

Select [Advanced] menu and set [Serial Port B] to [Enable] and [Device] to [Port
Replicator].
Press
F10 . At the confirmation message, select [Yes] and press Enter . The
computer will reboot.
NOTE
If, however, the situation does not improve, uninstall the touchscreen driver.

<Uninstalling the touchscreen driver>
When you want to uninstall the touchscreen driver, follow the steps below.

Select [Start] - [Programs] - [Touchscreen] - [Uninstall].

Simply follow the on-screen instructions.
<When you use the touchscreen function again>

In [Start] - [Settings] - [Control Panel] - [System] - [Device Manager] - [Mouse]
- [AHL/AR5000 and Digitouch Controllers], delete the check mark for [Disable
in this hardware profile] in [Device Usage], press [OK], then press [Close].
If uninstalling the touchscreen driver, reinstall the driver following the steps
below.

In [Start] - [Run], input [c:\util\drivers\tscreen\t5setup.exe], then press [OK].
Simply follow the on-screen instructions. (Select the default value.) If the
computer asks you to reboot the computer, press [Yes].

When the Calibration screen is displayed*, point the cursor.
*It is displayed first time only after the computer was rebooted.

Restart the computer.

When the message [Press <F2> to enter SETUP] is displayed, press
and then run the Setup Utility.

Select [Advanced] menu and set [Serial Port B] to [Enable] and [Device] to
[Touchscreen].
Press F10 . At the confirmation message, select [Yes] and press Enter .
The computer will reboot.
