WIRING WITH THE LP-1S & VF-100 ELECTRONIC HIGH-PASS FILTERS
The M&K LP-1S and VF-100 Electronic High-Pass Filters can improve the performance of any
system that allows for separation of its preamp and power amp stages by filtering the bass signal fed
to the main amplifier and Satellite speakers.
To use these filters with an integrated amp or receiver, the amp or receiver MUST have back panel
RCA jacks labelled Preamp/Main Output AND Power Amp/Main Input. There may be a switch or
jumper connections between them.
These filters will give you greater dynamic range, lower distortion, and an increased maximum
output level. If you have any questions about the suitability of your components, please contact your
M&K dealer or the factory.
To connect one of these filters into your system, run one set of shielded RCA — RCA interconnect
cables from the receiver, amp or preamp's Main Output to the set of input jacks labelled "INPUT" (on
the LP-1S) or "FROM PREAMP" (on the VF-100). Run another set of interconnects from the "TREBLE
OUT" (LP-1S) or "TO MAIN AMP" (VF-100) jacks to the receiver or amp's Power Amp Input. Run a
third set of interconnects from the "BASS OUTPUT" (LP-1S) or "TO SUBWOOFER" (VF-100) jacks to
the Subwoofer's "FROM PREAMP" jacks. See Figure 5.
