Safety assistance

Safety assistance is intended to help users send a quick notice of their approximate location and visual
surroundings to pre‑defined mobile devices of an emergency contact.
During an emergency, all of your pre‑defined ICE (In Case of Emergency) contacts are notified with a message
containing your emergency information.
Important! This feature is only for your convenience and is not intended as, or should it be treated as, a
substitute for emergency calls to the authorities.
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps g
2. Read the Geo Lookout & Emergency mode terms and conditions, and tap all of the boxes to create a
check mark, then tap OK.
3. When prompted, you must first set up emergency contacts. If you have not already done so, tap OK.
4. From the Primary contacts screen tap
5. Select a destination and enter your emergency contact information and tap Done.
6. From the main Safety assistance screen, the following options are available:
● Emergency mode: allows you to save power during an emergency by using a minimal home screen layout
and limiting the number of usable apps. Touch and move the slider to the right to turn it on.
● Geo News informs you of natural disasters and extreme weather conditions occurring in your vicinity. Read
and agree to the terms of use and service, then tap OK.
● Send help messages: helps you send a quick notice of your approximate location and visual/auditory
surroundings to the mobile phone of the Emergency contact that you have created. Tap the power keys
3 times in a row to send an emergency message to your emergency contact: You should still make an
emergency call to the appropriate authorities if needed. Touch and move the Send help messages slider to
the right to turn it on. Agree to the terms and conditions and then alter the following additional options:
— Send pictures: pictures taken by the front and rear cameras will be sent to your emergency contact when
an emergency has been declared (3 quick taps to the power button).
— Send sound recording: a sound recording will be sent to your emergency contact when an emergency
has been declared (3 quick taps to the power button).
● Manage primary contacts: allows you to create or modify your emergency contact information.

Accessories

This menu allows you to modify your Dock, S View Cover, HDMI (Audio output) and Power Sharing settings.
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps g
2. Tap Audio output to set your Audio output to Stereo or Surround.

Battery Usage

This option allows you to view a list of those components using battery power. The amount of time the battery was
used also displays. Battery usage displays in percentages per application.
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps g
percentage.
2. From the upper‑right tap Refresh to update the list.

Tap an entry to view more detailed information.
Note: Other applications may be running that affect battery use.
3. Tap the Show battery percentage check box to have the battery percentage displayed on your battery
charge icon on your status bar.

Power saving mode

Power saving mode allows you to manage your device to conserve power.
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps g
2. Make a selection, and in a single motion, touch and move the slider to the right to active the selected
power mode.
3. Tap Power saving mode, activate the feature, and configure the available functions for this option:
● Block background data: once activated, allows you extend battery life by restricting background data usage.
● Restrict performance: allows you to conserve battery power by disabling various features, such as:
— CPU performance: allows you to limit the maximum performance of the CPU.
— Screen output: allows you to lower the screen refresh rate and reduced brightness levels.
— Turn off touch key light: allows you to deactivate the touch key light to conserve power.
— Turn off GPS allows you disable GPS and location services.
● Grayscale mode: allows you to activate the ability of the device to save power by applying a grayscale effect
to your screens.

Tap Ultra power saving mode to activate the ability for the device to extremely extend your battery life by
enabling additional power saving techniques.
