Installing a hard disk

Depending on your purchased model, your nScreen may not
come with a hard disk. If you intend to install one, you can
contact BenQ distributor or Customer Service to check the
compatible hard disks that can be used, and refer to the
following procedures.
It is recommended that you take your nScreen to the BenQ
Customer Service for the hard disk installation. Extra charge
may be required if necessary.
• If you install a hard disk that is not compatible with your
nScreen, your system may not work properly.
• It is the sole responsibility of the user if problems (such as
data loss and system failure) occurred due to non-factory
installed software, parts, and/or non-original accessories.
1. Remove the back cover as instructed in Step 1 and 2 in
"Replacing the memory" on page
2. If the purchased model does not come with a hard disk, you
are supplied with a hard disk bracket kit, including a bracket
and 3 screws. Take the provided bracket kit out from the
hard disk bay.
3. Align the provided hard disk bracket to the hard disk you
purchased. Note that there is one direction only to make the
36.
alignment. Incorrect direction will cause damage to the
device.
To avoid possible damage to the hard disk and your nScreen,
pay attention to the following:
• Handle the hard disk carefully by its edge and avoid touching
the metal contacts or the spindle.
• Be careful not to remove the isolator that came with the
bracket.
