Problem
Ice cubes have
odor/taste

Possible Causes
Ice storage bin needs
cleaning.
Food transmitting odor/
taste to ice cubes.
Interior of refrigerator
needs cleaning.
Not unusual during
periods of high
humidity.
Too frequent or too
long door openings.
In humid weather, air
carries moisture into
refrigerator when doors
are opened.
Food too close to
air vent.
Fresh food control is
set too cold.
Foods transmitting
odor to refrigerator.
Spoiled food.
Interior needs cleaning.
Normal air flow cooling
motor. In the refrigeration
process, it is normal that
heat be expelled in the
area under the
refrigerator. Some floor
coverings will discolor
at these normal and safe
temperatures.
Defrost heater is on.
Front rollers or legs
need adjusting.
What To Do
Empty and wash bin.
Discard old cubes.
Wrap foods well.

Wipe surface dry and
make sure the power saver
switch is not set at the
POWER SAVER setting.
Move the food away from
the air vent (near controls).
Move the fresh food control
to a warmer temperature.
Foods with strong odors
should be tightly wrapped.
Keep an open box of baking
soda in the refrigerator;
replace every three months.

supplier should be
consulted if you object to
this discoloration.
