VOLUME control
set to minimum.

SOLUTION
Replace batteries.
Reinsert batteries correctly.
Check AC adapter
connection.
Close CD compartment.
Reinsert disc correctly.
Try another disc.
Wipe disc with soft
cloth.
Clean or replace disc.
Reinsert headphone
plug correctly.
Increase volume.
Replace batteries.
Try another disc.
