1. Get ready

To set up your Surface 3, we recommend you have:
• Wi-Fi network access (and the password if it
is secured).
• A Microsoft account (use an existing account,
such as Hotmail, Outlook.com or Xbox, or sign
up during setup).

2. Set up
Flip out the Kickstand
• Place your thumb in the groove on the side
of the device and push out to engage the
Kickstand. Choose from three positions for the
best angle.
Click in the optional keyboard cover
• Use the keyboard cover flat on tables or fold
the keyboard edge against the screen for better
stability on your lap.
Plug in the power supply and tap the Power button
(wait a few seconds for text to appear on screen)
