Pause Whena pause is neededto wait for a dial tone (forexample,after you dial 9 for an outside line,or to wait for a computer accesstone),pressthe pause button to insert a 3 seconddelay into the sequencewhen dialing (or when storing a numberinto phonebook.) UsingIntercomwith External T elephone Calls During atelephone call, y oumay use theintercom/paging function topage a nother handset and have a noffline, private (two-way)intercom conversation. You may also have a three-way conference between the external caller and thebase/handsets, you may transfer theexternal telephone call t oanother handset orthebase.
Caller ID {CID) IMPORTANT: In order to use this unit's Caller ID features, you must subscribe to either the standard Name/Number Caller ID Service or Call Waiting Caller ID Service. To know who is calling while you are on the phone, you must subscribe to Call Waiting Caller ID Service. Thisunit receivesanddisplaysinformation transmitted by your local phone company.

Set Number of Rings to Answer YourAnsweringSystemcan answer after 2 -6 rings or you can choosethe TollSaver option. TheTollsaver option instructsthe AnsweringSystemto answer after/4 rings only if there are new, un-playedmessages;otherwise,it will answer after 6 rings.The benefit to you is if you are making a long distancecall to retrieve messages,if the AnsweringSystemdoesnot answer after/4 rings,you can hang up.Thereare no new messages,and you will savethe expenseof a long distance call.
