Introduction This user’s guide contains information about installing and maintaining HP J4148A SureStore CD Expansion Tower. The HP J4148A SureStore CD Expansion Tower works with the following products: • HP J3278A SureStore CD-ROM Server/Tower 7Plus • HP J3168A SureStore CD-ROM Server (standalone module) When used with the Server/Tower 7Plus, the expansion tower extends the capacity of the storage system to 14 CD-ROM drives.
Installation Verify that the power supply input voltage of the expansion CAUTION! tower is set according to the power standards in the country of use. If necessary, set the voltage switch on the rear of the tower (see the illustration below) to 115 volts or 230 volts. Verify that the power cable is correct for the country of use.

Operation and Troubleshooting Once the HP J4148A expansion tower has been installed and powered on, all other operations are CD-ROM operations. Using HP SureStore CD-ROM Drives Tray door Emergency Eject button DISC indicator Stop/Eject button ON/BUSY indicator • Tray door: Press the Stop/Eject button to open the door. Insert the CD into the drawer.

Replacing the CD-ROM Drive 1. With the front cover off (see the preceding procedure), remove a CD-ROM drive module by placing both hands on the two handles on both sides. Pull the module out from the front of the bay using even pressure on both handles. 2.
