    Automatically Setting the Printer’s IP Address If the printer is connected to a small established TCP/IP network without a DHCP server, use the installer on the Software and Documentation CD to detect or assign an IP address to your printer.

Verify that the printer is receiving network information by monitoring the LEDs on the back of the printer. When the printer is connected to a functioning network and receiving traffic, its link LED is green, and its amber traffic LED is flashing rapidly.

    Make sure any parts removed during cleaning are replaced before you plug in the printer. Locating the Serial Number and the Service Tag When ordering supplies or contacting Dell for assistance, you will be asked to provide your printer’s serial number and/or service tag.
