Preparing the load

Place the insert into the A 500 mobile unit.

Check whether the breathing apparatus requires manual pre-clean-

ing, e.g. to remove soot.
If required, carry this pre-cleaning out in line with the manufac-

turer's instructions.
Place the compressed air unit carrier frames or the compressed air

bottles in the insert.
 Hazard
Compressed air may escape from the compressed air bottles dur-
ing reprocessing.
Close the valves on the compressed air bottles completely. Close
unused connections on the compressed air bottles with blind stop-
pers.
Two compressed air bottles can be placed in each side of the insert.
If necessary, additional holders can be used to secure the com-
pressed air bottles and prevent them from sliding sideways (optional
accessory APLW 839).
Position a holder to the right and left of the compressed air bottle.

