7. Service menu

Use this function to allow the user to request a service call, establish a connection to a remote service centre in
order to program over the telephone network, or test some system functions. There are ten options available.

To request the service menu
1. Access menu option 7.
The display shows:

The display shows the first menu option:
4. Enter the service option number required (see table above) and press [ENTER].
In some cases this will bring up another display for more information to be entered:
Description
Sends a request for a service technician to the central station (not available
in all reporting formats).
Terminates the connection to management software.
The control panel dials the pre-programmed service telephone number
and attempts to connect to the remote service modem in order to allow
programming changes to be made over the telephone network. If it fails on
the first try, it will not redial.
The panel automatically drops the line if there have been no keys pressed
by the remote service operator within the last two minutes.
Allows a temporary telephone number to be programmed and dialled for
the remote computer/RAS connection.
The control panel establishes a temporary direct connection to a PC
connected to the serial port (J18) on the motherboard. This is a Service
Technician option only.
Instructs the control panel to answer a current dial-in attempt
immediately.
Triggers the internal siren for three seconds followed by the external siren
for three seconds and finally the flash for 10 seconds.
If you have a voice reporting protocol on central station 4, you can change
the first telephone number of that central station.
Allows the user to stop voice reporting for any central station programmed
for Voice Reporting.
Tests the LEDs, the LCD display and buzzer of the RAS you are working
with.
