Requirements To use this machine with the Network Interface Card installed, the following hardware and software are required. Hardware Be sure to use a right cable and network device for your network interface card. • Token Ring STP cable with the RJ-45 connector for Token Ring, or Token Ring cable with the D-Sub 9-pin connector.

Assigning IP Address Assign the IP address, the Subnet Mask, and the Gateway address of this machine on the control panel. This address must be assigned when using the TCP/IP protocol or TopAccess. Note: Assign the Gateway address when the printer is used in network through a router. Enter the router’s address for the Gateway address.

Setup in Bindery Mode The print server is set up in the bindery mode of NetWare 4.x. It is set in the bindery mode when you want to preserve the environment of the existing NetWare 3.x or also allow clients of NetWare 3.x to use the print server.

Changing the Priority of Print Queues When you print a file, your system sends the file to a print queue. The print server assigned to that queue extracts the print job and sends it to the assigned printer. If a print server is servicing queues on multiple file servers, you must assign queues to the printer on each file server.

How to Set Up Notify You can specify users or groups of users that are notified if a problem occurs when a print job is sent to the printer. If the print server is servicing queues on multiple file servers, you must set up a NOTIFY list for each file server.
NDPS Setting A new architecture, NDPS (Novell Distributed Print Services) is adopted in Novell NetWare 5. Use this print service to set up the NDPS from the Windows 95 (98) using NetWare Administrator. Set-up Example The following set-up is performed under the conditions stated below. Setting up NetWare Administrator Starting NetWare Administrator This is performed on the workstation. Log in for the NetWare server as an Administrator. Start NetWare Administrator. • NetWare Administrator is found in the Public directory of the SYS volume. Open the Public directory Explorer and startup Nwadmin3x.exe.

Choose NPDS Broker and click on [OK]. Create NDPS Broker Object appears. Enter the name of the NDPS BROKER and RMS Volume, and click [Create]. The NDPS Broker is created.

Copier Configurations Menu You can check the location of this machine, paper sizes, and configuration of optional equipment. Printing JOB Menu A set of data, for which a print request is made, is called a “print job.” Up to 190 print jobs of the latest dates are displayed. You can check the state of your print job or delete the job. To display the latest state, right-click the mouse in the display area and click Refresh.

Print Log (latest 190 jobs) A set of data, for which a print request is made, is called a “print job.” Up to 190 print jobs and their records of the latest dates are displayed. You can check the state of your print job or delete the job which you have unintentionally made a request to print.

Deleting the print job Click on Delete for the print job to be deleted. • Deletion is not displayed for any job whose state is “Complete” or “Delete”. The Job Delete screen appears. Check that the print job should be deleted and click on DELETE.
Test Print This function is used for test print after changing the setting(s) or for printing out a setting status report. Test print procedures Turn on the check box for the item you want to print. Setting List Prints out a report on various settings. Font List Prints out a list of internal fonts.
Device Status Log You should refer to the Device Status Log when inspecting or repairing this machine. Click on BACK, and the display will return to showing the Administrator menu.
Printing Counter The total number of sheets (copier and printer), number of sheets of the printer function, and number of sheets for each group are displayed. Management by group facilitates the management of the number of sheets. The group counters can be reset as necessary. The number of printer sheets and total number of sheets cannot be reset.

Perform the Printer Reset. • You can also make them valid by turning the machine power off and then on. • When setting is performed, the Printer Reset via the TopAccess may not be carried out. In this case, the reset can be made through the operation on the Control Panel (refer to the Printer Function) or by turning the machine power off and then on.
Password Change Change the administrator password. It is set to password when the machine is delivered. The administrator password is used to change a setting(s) with TopAccess. Install MAP MAP, Management Access Program, can link to the NIC using the exclusive alternating IPX channel even if the network is not in TCP/IP protocol environment. To use MAP, it is necessary that Web browser and TCP/IP protocol are installed in your computer. Notes: Use TopAccess when your computer and the printer are connected in network with TCP/IP protocol.
