Care and cleaning of the range,
Be sure the controls are turned to OFF and the surface units are cool before attempting
to remove them.

Locking tab

When properly seated, the locking
tab should lock onto the cooktop
rim through the notch in the drip
pan.
Tocleanthe surfaceunits,turn the contralto the
highestsettingfor a minute.Thecallswill burn off
anysoil.
To remove a surface unit:
To remavethe drip pansfor cleaning,
the surfaceunitsmustbe removedfirst.

Pushthe surfaceunit backtoward
the receptacleto freethe lockingtab
from the cooktop.

Liftthe surfaceunit about1 inchabovethe drip
panand pull it out.
Donot lift thesurfaceunit morethan 1 inch.
Ifyou do,it may not lieflat on thedrip pan
whenyouplug it backin.
NOTE:Repeated liftingof the surfaceunit
morethan 1 inchabovethe drip pan can
permanentlydamagethe receptacle.
Toreplace a surfaceunit:
ry] Replace the drip pan intothe recess
in the cooktop.Hake surethe opening
in the pan linesup with the receptacle.

Insertthe terminalsof thesurfaceunit through
the openingin the drip pan and intothe
receptacle.

Pushthe surfaceunitin and downto lockthe
tab in placesoit restsevenlyin the cooktop.
Donot immersethe surfaceunitsin liquidsof any
kind.
Donot cleanthe surfaceunitsin a dishwasher.
Donot bendthe surfaceunit plugterminals.
Donot attemptto clean,adjustor in anyway repair
the plug-inreceptacle.
Drip
Pans
Remove the surfaceunits.Thenlift out the drip pans.
Forbestresults, c leanthe drip pansby hand.Place
them in a coveredcontainer(ora plasticbag)with
¼ cupammoniato loosenthe soil.Rinse with clean
water and polishwith a cleansoftcloth.
Thedrip pansmay alsobe cleanedin a dishwasher.
Cleanthe area underthe drip pansoften.Built-up
soil,especially grease,may catchfire.
Donot coverthe drip panswith foil.Usingfoil so
closeto the receptacle couldcauseshock, f ire or
damageto the range.
NOTE: t f your cooktopis equipped with shiny,silver-
coloreddrip pans,do not cleanthem in the self-
cleaningoven.Permanent d amageto the finishcan
occur.
tfyour cooktopisequippedwith blackor gray
porcelain-coated drip pans,they can be cleanedin
the ovenduringthe self-cleaning cycle.Beforeyou
begina self-cleaning cycle,removeanyheavysoil
from the drip pansand placethem on the porcelain-
coated ovenracks.Donot placethe drip pans
directlyon the ovenbottom.After the self-cleaning
cycleiscompletedand the drip pansare cool,wipe
them with a dampcloth to removeanyremaining
ash or residue.

Be sure all surface units are turned
off before raising the Cooktop.

Lift-Up Cooktop
Theentirecooktopmay be lifted up and supportedin
the up positionfor easiercleaning.
Thesurfaceunitsdo not needto be removed;
however, y ou may removeoneto makeraisingthe
cooktopeasier. T herearetwo sidesupportsthat lock
intopositionwhen thecooktopis
lifted up.
After cleaningunderthe cooktopwith hot,
mildsoapywater and a cleancloth,lowerthe
cooktop.Be carefulnotto pinchyour fingers.
Tolowerthe cooktop,pushthe rodsbackand gently
lowerthe cooktopuntilit restsin place.
